

Sonya (Sofya) Voronko is a Junior/Intermediate teacher candidate, who expects to complete her Master's of Teaching from OISE in 2020. She also holds a Bachelor's of Music Education from U of T (2015). Sonya has a three-year-old son, who inspires her and teaches her lessons about patience, acceptance, and love.
Professionally speaking, Sonya is a musician, teacher, composer, and conductor. She enjoys acting, performing, recording music, and collaborating on new projects. She recently accepted the position of conductor with Young Voices Toronto children's choir. Sonya also has 10 years of experience of privately teaching piano, voice, and guitar - her favorite ages to teach are 6-12.
One of Sonya's biggest accomplishments was serving as the musical and artistic director and choreographer for "Seussical the Musical" as well as a musical version of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" while working at Roger White Academy.
In her free time, Sonya writes children's poetry and songs, which have been featured at several festivals as well as on a children's CD. Sonya dreams of publishing her own book of children's poetry.
